Swedish Death Cleaning

  • Packages Begin at $900

Swedish Death Cleaning is the process of sorting through a lifetime of belongings and deciding what is kept, gifted, or released. While practical on the surface, death cleaning work is often layered with memory, identity, and emotion. It can be difficult to know where to begin, or how to move through it without becoming overwhelmed.

I work alongside individuals and families to create steadiness within that process—offering guidance, structure, and a calm presence as decisions are made.

    This service includes:

    • A three-session minimum, allowing for a paced and supported process

    • Hands-on guidance in sorting, decision-making, and next steps

    • Support in identifying meaningful items for gifting or bequeathing

    • Sorting, packing, and organizing of items

    • A grounded, non-judgmental presence throughout

    Additional support may include:

    • Coordination of donation or estate clean out services

    • Light transportation of selected donated items

    • Packing materials and logistical support as needed

Each engagement is shaped by the scope of the space, the timeline, and the needs of those involved.

  • How It Works

    1. Initial Conversation
We begin with a phone or video call to understand the scope of the space, your timeline, and what kind of support would be most helpful.

    2. First Session: Beginning Gently
Our first in-home session is focused on orienting to the space and starting in a manageable area. We establish a pace that feels sustainable, not rushed.

    3. Ongoing Sessions: Sorting & Decision-Making
In subsequent visits, we continue the process together—sorting, pausing when needed, and making thoughtful decisions about what stays, what is passed on, and what is released.

    4. Coordination & Next Steps
As the process unfolds, I can assist in coordinating donations, connecting with cleanout services if needed, and helping ensure that next steps feel clear and supported.

This work is not rushed. It unfolds over time, with care and attention to both the practical and emotional aspects of letting go.

  • "The level of commitment and loving care that DeDe provides for my husband with advanced dementia, as well as her support of my need for a caring ear has been invaluable! I always know that he is safe and his needs are met whenever she is with him, allowing me peace of mind."

  • "DeDe has made such a huge impact on our patients and their families during their end-of-life hospice journey with us. She goes above and beyond to care for our patient’s spiritual and emotional needs by offering a comforting presence and helping families along the way with whatever needs they might have."

-Holly Salas, Volunteer Coordinator, Emmanuel Hospice

  • "DeDe's grounded presence and calm leadership put me at ease during the ceremony she officiated for me. The ceremony itself was crafted beautifully and with careful attention to detail, and everyone in attendance was really moved by how personal and intentional it was. "
